How to Prepare for a Design Consultation with Branches!
The collaboration was inspired by the luxurious textures and colors of autumn, the effortless natural magic of the Lowcountry, and transitional silhouettes and palettes that blend the fleeting season of fall into the nostalgia of the holidays. Michelle curated the looks based on the latest trends and classic styles the Birdie James client craves; and of course, we gathered the unique and striking botanicals and natural materials that our Branches friends love. We styled the front window "ladies" at Birdie James with the blend of our favorite looks.
But wait! There was MORE! We couldn't resist bringing these designs to life - so we enlisted a couple of beautiful friends of both Branches and Birdie James, Jennifer Gleistman and Adrienne LeBlanc, to style the looks. We then brought in our go-to gal for photos, Celia Carroll of Harbour Affair, and we let the magic begin!
Thank you to our local, beautiful vendors and friends for letting us flex our creative vibes and bringing our creations to life! Stay tuned for more collabs down the road... because now we're hooked!

Your Branches Designers, Sarah & Lauren, love to get on the road to explore interesting found objects and home goods - and the often interesting people behind them. Each piece we bring home has a story and unique character that we just know you'll love, too:

Scratching around off the beaten path is one of our favorite activities. Raised in the South, we have a healthy love for all things rusty, wooden and loved-to-death. This deep appreciation has taken on us on journeys to some of the most eclectic junk yards and flea markets in the South. These “collectors,” as they’re called, aren’t your “regular folk,” which makes for a one-of-a-kind experience every time we go picking. The finds are always unique, as are the stories and colorful personalities we meet. We love hearing a good story about the origin of the item or to play the guessing game of “What do you think that was used for?” The ability to see the beauty in an forgotten or “old” item has a need takes a special eye, but we love to carry on the story and history of that item and its collector through our repurposed designs at the shop.
